How This Course Is Taught

The Handicraft training journey, stage by stage.

STEP 01

Cluster mapping and enrolment

Batches are formed inside existing craft clusters so training builds on the skills a community already holds.

STEP 02

Material and design basics

Raw material selection, dyes, motifs, design reading and costing of a finished piece.

STEP 03

Master-artisan demonstration

A master artisan demonstrates each stage of the craft, from loom setup or base preparation to the signature technique of the trade.

STEP 04

Supervised production practice

Trainees produce sample pieces repeatedly, with the trainer correcting tension, symmetry and finish at every stage.

STEP 05

Quality checking and finishing

Defect identification, grading, washing, trimming and packing to buyer specification.

STEP 06

Certification and market linkage

Assessment and certification, then connection to exporters, e-commerce platforms, exhibitions and cluster aggregators.
